Sand is a naturally occurring granular material composed of finely divided rock and mineral particles.
We have a hugely diverse selection of different sands for a wide variety of uses. From concrete, bricklaying, paving and landscaping through to the creation of a simple but extremely effective children’s sand pit Mornington Sand and Soil has what you’re looking for.
Packing Sand
A naturally occurring sand with a maximum particle size of 3mm. A fatty packing sand, screened on site – which may vary slightly from time to time depending on availability.
It is unwashed and has a high clay content. Perfect for use as backfill and as sand beds under concrete slabs.
Concrete Sand
A coarse graded material used as a “lightweighting agent” in traditional sand materials for concreting. Our concrete sand is beige in colour.
White Brick Sand
As the name implies, brick sand is the preferred sand of bricklayers. It can also be known as fatty sand or brickie’s sand, and has a clay component that makes it sticky.
When blended with cement and lime to make mortar, the resulting mix is termed ‘fatty’, which means it is easy to work with when laying bricks, as it is compressible and oozes out of the joints. It is a major component of brick and block laying mortar and bagging for walls. The clay content can leave colour on hands or clothing.
It’s available in yellow and white to allow for different mortar colours.

White Washed Sand
Our washed sand is a medium graded, clean sand which feels soft to the touch. It has a very consistent particle size, runs easily when dry and is generally a white or yellowy-white colour.
It is perfect for sweeping between your paving stones or in a sandpit for the kids. It’s also a component of concrete, sand cement and other render mixes.
7mm PREMIX / CORE FILL
A 7mm aggregate concrete sand similar to our concrete premix sand and screenings product. Our core fill will suit better for your tighter spaces as the screenings are finer.
14mm CONCRETE PREMIX
Our concrete premix is a blend of 20mm and 14mm screening and concrete sand. As a premium trade quality mix of sand, cement and aggregate, it is hard wearing and simple to use just by adding water and cement.
Conveniently mixed to the correct proportions, ensuring a strong surface every time this product is the way to go if you are looking to mix up your own concrete for those smaller more manageable jobs.
